#July is named after Julius Caesar!

The Roman general was born in 100 BC in the month of Quintilis, which means fifth month. It was renamed Iulius (July) in 44 BC – the year he was assassinated.

Caesar is depicted in this 1698 print sitting on a cloud. The zodiac sign of Leo is represented above him – the sign that starts in July 🦁
