Word of the day: “robust” – of ideas, people, structures, etc; resilient, hardy, sturdy.
A widely used word with a little-known root; “robust” is from the classical Latin “rōbustus”, meaning “made of oak”. To be robust is to be oak-like, oak-strong, oak-patient.
