#otd in 1927, Bertram Brooker (1888–1955) opened the first solo show of non-representational art in Canadian history at Toronto’s Arts and Letters Club—to the delight and shock of all who attended. The exhibition featured radical geometric compositions and lyrical forms. (via @artcaninstitute)
