The ‘cur’ in words like RECUR and OCCUR comes from ‘currere’, the Latin word for run. The same root appears in the likes of COURIER, EXCURSION, CONCOURSE, CURSIVE writing, and CURRENCY, in the sense that money ‘runs’ from one point to another during a transaction. (via @HaggardHawks)
