The Greek word ‘phantasia’–meaning a vision or hallucination–is the origin of words like FANTASY and PHANTOM. In Latin, that root inspired a verb, ‘pantasiare’, that was used to mean to struggle to breathe while having a nightmare–and via French, ultimately gave us the word PANT. (via @HaggardHawks@twitter)
